Love at First 'Stache

"...At the last stop of the night, Tammy was dragged to a party where she met the man of her dreams. And so did he."

On October 28, 2011, Tammy lost a bet with her engineering classmates so she dressed up like a man and attended a Halloween party instead of studying for her Chemistry exam. After her classmates provided the most attractive, makeshift outfit--an oversized, spare black t-shirt accompanied with a mustache drawn on with eyeliner, Tammy was all ready set to go home. She lasted an hour at the first party before calling her roommate, Anna Chang, to pick her up. Anna, the social butterfly, had one more party to attend (Rolando's Halloween Party) and asked Tammy to also stop by for a quick second. Still dressed like a man at the last stop of the night, Tammy was dragged to a party where she met the man of her dreams. And so did he.  

Not knowing anyone else at the party except for a few of Anna's friends, Tammy went to the kitchen to grab a drink. Right there and then, Rolando, who dressed as a bloody nurse, grabbed a shot glass, pointed at her, and yelled, "SHOT?"

Denying the stranger danger right away, Tammy went back to the living room to mingle and eventually went to the restroom to wash off her eyeliner mustache. One of her friends, Madrise, came knocking on the door to come in and after letting her in, she mentioned, "By the way, Rolando thinks you're cute."

Tammy was confused. Oversized black t-shirt and mustache. The most basic outfit ever. How could it be?

Forgetting who Rolando was, Tammy introduced herself again to multiple people throughout the night. After meeting Rolando again in front of the fireplace, she thought "You've got to be kidding. The shot-guy? Hmmm... Not bad. Wonder if he's still interested without the mustache." 

From there, Anna asked Rolando to take a few photos for her. Afterwards, Rolando asked Anna to take a photo with just him and Tammy. In Tammy's mind, she was thinking "I bet he's going to find me through a facebook tag."

And so he did. A week later, Rolando messaged Tammy on Facebook where they set a date to have lunch since they only worked a block away from each other. However, Rolando couldn't wait for the date and spontaneously met Tammy at South Coast Plaza where she was shopping. He didn't buy anything. He cut right to the chase and asked her if she was hungry--right there and then, they had their first date at Anjin. It took a year to work out the kinks in the relationship, but on September 3, 2012, Tammy & Rolando officially started dating. The rest is history.
