First Project: Outdoor Love Seat Sofa
Built in 2016, August.
This was my first build and since this was awhile ago since I built it I'll just rehash what I used and things I learned.
This build and techniques were inspired by: HomeMade-Modern See the link here: http://www.homemade-modern.com/ep70-outdoor-sofa/
I couldn't find 4x8s at Home Depot at the time so I just bought a whole bunch of 4x4s. This didn't make the project as cheap as I hoped it would have been but it was okay for starters.
I had to drill holes to insert lag bolts which in the end probably wasn't ideal. Overall, if I had to redo my patio sofa, I would have built it differently and with less materials.
Materials:
2x6s for the seats and backrest
4x4s for the side of the bench
1x4s to support the sides
metal L-brackets to hold the seat and backrest.
Some issues, was the incorrect pilot holes and the twist in the 4x4s made gaps and the bench overall wobbly. By screwing in 1x4's on the side helped to stabilize the bench.
